Valentine’s is not just for couples, and Southeastern’s Tri Sigma took the initiative to offer a fun time for any girls looking to enjoy the holiday with one another. Tri Sigma’s Galentine’s Girls’ Night will follow the past week of Greek Life events on campus.
Bryanna Barcus, the coordinator and host of these Tri Sigma events, anticipates the female camaraderie that this girls’ night will promote on campus.
“Sisterhood, and being able to have fun with other girls.” Barcus said. “Just being friendly with one another and hopefully finding more friends.”
Joining in on campus events can feel like a challenge for newer or introverted students, and the laid-back nature of this event will hopefully combat those fears.
“We just want to create an environment where other girls feel like they can show up and have fun” Barcus said.
With the laid-back nature of this event and the interest of promoting friendship on campus, the guidelines for joining the girls’ night are minimal.
“Any ladies are welcome, and they can bring their friends.” Barcus said. “They don’t even have to be interested in joining Greek Life at all”
The Tri Sigma Galentine’s Girls Night will be held on February 11, in room 223 of the Student Union building at 7 p.m. That same night, students are also welcomed and encouraged to attend the Cupid’s Sweet Soiree in the student union, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
