Sure to be one of the best comedies of the year with the star power of Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, “Just Go With It” will have you falling out of your seat.
This humorous movie follows the story of Dr. Daniel “Danny” Maccabee (Sandler) who is a successful plastic surgeon who has been successfully using the ploy of a terrible marriage to pick up women for over 20 years.
He soon meets a beautiful young teacher whom he falls for rather quickly. She quickly finds out about him and his “marriage,” believing he is truly married. He soon realizes he must stage a divorce in order to have a chance with her.
He enlists the help of his assistant Katherine Murphy (Aniston) to pretend to be his soon-to-be ex wife. Murphy is the happily divorced mother of two children who are very mature for their age.
After he slips up on what would be a one night confrontation assuring Palmer Dodge (Brooklyn Decker), Danny’s potential soul mate, that he is really getting divorced, she decides that she wants to meet his “ex.”
In order to make the fake divorce believable, they go shopping to make Murphy look the part and come up with a story, complete with note cards.
After making Murphy look convincing, they stage a lunch in order to prove that his fake ex-wife really does exist.
Murphy’s children soon become involved after the slip up, and they all end up on a trip to Hawaii, with the lies and confusion building up into one, big hilarious mess.
While in Hawaii all the characters soon discover a little about themselves as well as the people they went on the trip with. Sometimes there is more to someone you have known all along than would be expected.
Maccabee and Murphy soon find out that they don’t really know everything about each other, even after years of working together and being friends.
The movie is rated PG-13 and lasts a total of an hour and a half. This will definitely be a movie you will not regret seeing, considering Sandler’s comedic guarantee and Aniston’s charm.
