Reorganization at Southeastern

Haley Barnett, Staff Writer

In late June, President Burrage announced an administrative reorganization effective, in most cases, by July 1. This is the result of 33 faculty and staff members taking advantage of the retirement incentive plan offered this year.

Losing a high number of faculty members has resulted in present staff members gaining roles, responsibilities and additional job titles. “The retirements included a number of experienced faculty and staff members, as well as several key administrators. It is very difficult to replace that level of experience, especially with the budget restraints, that we are facing.”, said Burrage.

Due to the loss of key faculty member, certain offices have been relocated on campus and some positions have been combined. Some of the key changes have been listed below:

  • Business office – relocated to the Administration Building
  • Post Office – relocated to the Safety Building
  • Bryon Clark – Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Tim Boatmun – Dean of Graduate School, E-Programming and Academic Support
  • Kendra Gross – Director of McCurtain County Campus
  • Bruce King – Executive Director of the Center for Student Success and Native American Institute
  • Robin Plumb – Dean and Director of Educational Outreach
  • Liz McCraw – Dean of Student Affairs
  • Mike Davis – Director of Compliance and Safety
  • Sandra Thomas – Interim Library Director
  • Dan Simmons – Director of Physical Plant
  • Brett Elliott – Director of General Education
  • Meg Cotter-Lynch – Director of Honors Program
  • Clifford Cox – Director of Academic Advising and Outreach Center
  • Elizabeth Watkins – Director of Learning Center
  • Shannon McCraw – Chair, Department of Art, Communication and Theatre
  • Kay Diagle – Chair, Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation
