Intramural flag football is back at SE

Nate Hodson, Contributing Writer

It is September again and that means intramural flag football is back.

Intramural sports happen all year long with different sports that correlate with regular sport seasons. Intramural sports is an opportunity for college students that are not athletes that like to play sports to build a team and play competitively against other students on campus.

Nurse April Lehrling said that the campus has intramural sports because they encourage student involvement, allow past athletes to continue to compete athletically, provide a good outlet to relieve stress, they are fun and they create another opportunity for students to stay active.

Cole Hughes, a member of an intramural flag football team said, “If you like sports, intramurals give you an opportunity to competitively compete without being on a collegiate team.”

If you would like to participate, you can sign up by going online at se.edu and clicking on the wellness center tab. The deadline to sign up is September 9 at 2:00 p.m. If you are a team captain, the captain’s meeting is on September 12 at 6:30 p.m. The first scheduled games are on September 13.

If you would like to play but do not have enough for a team, you can fill out a free-agent form and the wellness center staff will place you on a team.

If you have any more questions, visit se.edu under the wellness center tab.
