First United Bank held a Back to School Bash as a part of Southeastern’s Storm Week on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m.

They invited students and community members to join them in front of their campus branch at 1410 N 1st St. to kick the school year off.

The bank provided free hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks and snow cones to visitors. Southeastern student and people from the Durant community took advantage of this free event.

This event is designed to “get everybody excited for back to school” said Sarah Roberts, Southeastern graduate student and regional marketing coordinator at First United.

First United uses the Back to School Bash to promote options available to students.

“We do cater to students” said Roberts. The campus branch is convenient and accessible, located across the street from Southeastern.

If students open a “True Blue” basic checking account at the campus location they will receive a free limited edition Southeastern t-shirt.

Additionally students can get a 25 dollar account bonus by using their debit card five times in the first 60 days of opening an account, signing up for text alerts, signing up for e-statements and opening up a First United Bank savings account.
