Fall in love with Downtown Durant this First Friday
October 1, 2021
Durant Main Street is a program dedicated to revitalizing historic Downtown Durant by preservation, economic growth and a sense of community. Durant Main Street often organizes special events focused on bringing locally owned businesses and the community together. These events are great opportunities for students to connect with Downtown Durant.
Durant Main Street will be hosting their Fall First Friday event on Oct. 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Downtown Durant. There will be special deals from various shops, later shopping hours, fall desserts and even pumpkin decorating.
This will be a very casual event, due to future events requiring more funding.
Later shopping hours mean this is perfect for students to check out local boutiques since shops can not always accommodate busy schedules of college students.
Sarah Lewis, Director of Durant Main Street explained, “People will be able to rediscover Durant.”
Tabbitha Kniss, owner of Krahë said, “We will be serving mimosas and staying open until 7 p.m. so come on out and bring a friend!”
Another “shop and sip” option is Knotty Pine Boutique, located at 117 Market Square, who will be serving apple cider mimosas and having a 15% off storewide sale.
If you need something to fun and festive to do this Friday night, visit Downtown Durant to check out shops, taste a few fall treats and enjoy the uplifting atmosphere.
To learn more about future Durant Main Street events, find them on Facebook or visit www.durantmainstreet.org.

I would love to see southeastern college get involved with Art at Magnolia Mile Art Alley. Reach out to Develop Durant. We have places to display Art in a fun setting. Reach put if interested. Curt

Hi, Curt!
We love the Magnolia Mile Art Alley and have done a couple pieces on it in the past. We were waiting to see how the mural competition turned out and when the winners would be announced. If you’re still accepting applications, please feel free to email us at [email protected] to send us more information. I don’t see too much posted about it, but I have noticed a few new displays in the alley the last time I visited. We’d love to write an update.
I’m attaching a couple links to the articles we put out in the spring 🙂
