The Southeastern True Blue Ambassador program added 13 new members on March 2.
The new ambassadors will join the current ambassadors to help represent SE to prospective students, alumni and special guests who visit campus.
SE’s Office of University Recruitment sponsors the ambassador program in order to maximize recruitment efforts and give the exceptional students a chance to improve leadership ability.
“The True Blue Ambassador program plays an important role in the recruitment of prospective students, and being an ambassador is a great way for the students to get involved on campus,” said Elizabeth Stidham, University Recruitment coordinator.
The 13 new members, who were nominated by faculty and staff members and went through an application/interview process to be selected, will join the eight current ambassadors.
“The ambassadors were chosen because of the leadership potential and self-motivation they possess,” Stidham said.
The new True Blue Ambassadors, their hometowns and majors are as follows:
Alex Fowzer, Paris, Texas – communication, broadcasting
Ashley Clark, Whitesboro, Texas – elementary education

Tiffany Martinez, Bogota, Columbia – communication

The ambassador group is diverse in campus involvement as well as majors and hometowns.
All of these differing factors can help them relate to prospective students, which helps establish the personal environment SE is known for.
“It’s great to be a part of the True Blue program. I feel like I’ll really be able to contribute to SE Recruitment,” said Ashley Clark, a new ambassador.
The ambassadors are required to know important SE information, historical facts about the university and be able to answer any questions a prospective student might have while leading a campus tour.
“Campus tours are a deciding factor for many students, and I enjoy getting to reassure them that Southeastern is the right place to be,” said Zac Morgan, a current ambassador.
In addition to leading campus tours, the ambassadors help work University Recruitment’s biggest event each semester, SE Live Open House.
The Open House allows approximately 200 prospective students visit campus to get a feel for what life at Southeastern is really like.
They also represent the SE student body at Alumni events like the Gold and Blue Gala and help the President’s Office welcome honored guests to campus.
