Nearly 100 Southeastern students, staff and faculty joined “Take Back the Night,” a rally against domestic violence, on Oct. 7
Members of the President’s Leadership Class took center stage at the rally point in front of Paul Laird Field. A one-mile walk was held at dusk from the SE campus to Durant Market Square to join a community-wide candlelight vigil in honor of victims of domestic violence.
“This raises awareness about domestic violence and sexual violence against women,” said Debra Fulenchek, a clinical counselor at the SE Counseling Center. “The vigil is in honor of those women who have died as a result of this violence.”
In addition to the President’s Leadership Class, campus groups Psi Chi and Resident Life were participants in “Take Back the Night.”
