The 2013-14 Student Government Association elections are underway. Voting began at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 and will end at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5.
Students may vote through Blackboard. There are six candidates running for senator positions and one candidate for senate secretary.
The senator candidates are Amanda Scott, Aubrey Tarantine, Toni Taylor, Kayleb Koslowsky, Roberto Guardian-Ibarra and Tommy Williamson.
Scott is a senior psychology major with a dance minor from Ardmore. Her campus concerns are a lack of school spirit throughout the community and making sure students know about all organizations.
Tarantine is a senior communication major with a theatre minor from Sherman, Texas. Tarantine said, “I have wanted to be in Student Government since I was a freshman, and I think it will be a great leadership opportunity for me.”
Taylor is a sophomore criminal justice major from Broken Bow. Taylor’s concerns include a lack of pride on campus.
Koslowsky is a junior chemistry and biology major from El Dorado, Kan. Koslowsky said he looks forward to “collaborating with other SGA’s to better SE by sharing ideas.”
Guardian-Ibarra is a junior chemistry and biology major with a Spanish minor from Madill. Ibarra wants to able to participate in student organizations and help Southeastern become a more welcoming environment.
Williamson is a junior criminal justice major with a broadcasting minor from North Little Rock, Ark. Williamson’s concerns for statewide student government are “equal rights for all students/organizations.”
Danielle Julian is the secretary candidate. She is a junior communication major with a psychology minor. Julian’s concern is to get more students involved on campus.
