Students are being asked not to park in the College Inn Commons’ parking lot. These properties include College Inn, Campus Court, Sooner House and Shady Brook Apartments. Community Director Wendy Leathers said there would be no more warnings for non-residents parking in the lot without a permit. All other vehicles will be towed.
Leathers said she spent over three hours in one day tagging around 40 cars that did not have a parking permit. The residents of the apartment pay for the permit and are the only people allowed to park there.
Leathers said, “It is not fair to residents.”
If you are visiting a resident, Leathers said there are about 10 spaces that are just for visitors. These spots are located at the back of the lot on Shady Brook Apartments that is north of 7th St., the spots have designations for visitor parking only.
Leathers said, the main time non-residents parking is a problem is during school hours, but even at night if a vehicle is seen in a parking spot that is not designated for a visitor without a permit a tow truck will be called immediately and the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.
