The SE cafeteria, decked out for Halloween, hosted a pumpkin carving and candy counting contest on Oct. 31.
In the pumpkin carving contest, three winners were selected from the 11 entries.
All the winners won flex dollars, which is money added to meal plans to be spent at the Magnolia Grill on campus.
First place, winning 45 flex dollars, was Brittany Roundtree’s “Harry Potter” pumpkin.
Winning second place and 35 flex dollars was Chelsea Nwankwo with her rendition of Stitch from “Lilo and Stitch,” and third place and 30 flex dollars went to Caroline Martinez and Cassaundra Braaten for their “Cheeseburger” pumpkin.
The contest was open to the campus community, and the judging was done by students, faulty members and Sodexo employees, by 20 random ballots.
The candy counting contest winner was Stefan Kells who won 20 flex dollars for most closely guessing the amount of candies in a jar. Kells was off by only two, guessing 85 pieces. The correct amount was 83 pieces.
