Theatre at Southeastern will present the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Classic” Nov. 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Auditorium.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office in the Visual and Performing Arts Center, by calling 580-745-2696 or online at www.se.edu/theartre. Tickets will also be available at the door an hour before the show.
This production is adapted from the Dickensian classic by Jonathan Moscone for the Dallas Theatre Center. It features a fast-paced narrative that sticks closely to the original plot by using direct excerpts from the novel to tell the story.
Penny-pinching miser Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Dustin Curry, is visited by the spirit of his former business partner Jacob Marley, played by Joel Dameron, as well as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, played by Minda Rocha, Christmas Present, played by Rebecca Ford, and Christmas Yet To Come.
Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s employee, will be played by Nick Growall.
By examining his life and the consequences of his actions, Scrooge begins to understand the true meaning of the holidays. Curry said, “This is going to be one of the most immersive productions Southeastern has produced in a number of years. The costumes and set are going to be spectacular, and I’m looking forward to recreating this character and this story for our audiences.”
Dell McLain, chair of the Department of Communication and Theatre, and director of “A Christmas Carol” said, “This award-winning production includes all the thrills and chills one expects of this terrific holiday classic.”
The production will feature scenic design by Corey King, costume design by Kathleen Hardgrove, lighting design by Darrin Wade, sound design by Steven Mackey and property design by Domanick Hubbard.
The cast includes Kevin Anastasio, Courtney Baker, Jessica Black, Bonnie Boone, Riley Collard, Brianne Cothran, Sheridan Hill, Sarah Hodson, Domanick Hubbard, Brittany Lopez, Megan Mackey, Landry Miller, Kylie Page, Trent Pratt, Tanner Risner, Ashleigh Self, Patrick Southerland and Rebecca Sparks.
