Seven Southeastern students have been selected to join the True Blue Ambassadors Program.
According to Recruitment coordinator Elizabeth Stidham, seven new faces will be joining the Ambassadors Program this year.
Those students are aviation major Collin Beshear, criminal justice major Bryanna Bradshaw, psychology major Natalee Hightower, occupational safety and health major Kelly Aaron Jeffress, accounting Major Vy Mguyen, general business major Sheila “Suzy” Weber and chemistry/biology major Lauren “Caley” Wesberry.
According to Stidham, the seven new ambassadors will join 16 returning ambassadors to carry out the duties of the True Blue Ambassadors program.
“We have a tremendous group of student leaders,” said Stidham. “They represent the diversity of campus- majors, home towns and ethnicities.”
Stidham also said that this year’s selection process was difficult.
“We look for students that love Southeastern and can really share their experiences with prospective students, alumni and guests on campus,” Stidham added.
According to the Office of University Recruitment, the True Blue Ambassadors have many responsibilities around campus.
Those responsibilities include representing Southeastern at recruitment and alumni events, assisting the president in hosting special guests on campus and giving campus tours to prospective students.
True Blue Ambassadors are nominated by faculty and staff and must complete an application and interview process.
The Southeastern True Blue Ambassadors program is sponsored by both the Southeastern Office of University Recruitment and the University’s presidential partners.
The program is designed to maximize the recruitment process and give students a chance to improve their leadership skills.
