Theatre at Southeastern’s touring presentation of “The Time Is Out of Joint: A Study of Hamlet” traveled this fall to multiple venues across Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas.
The company of six actors and two technicians began on Friday, Oct. 24 at Grayson County College in Denison, Texas.
They moved to the Robson Performing Arts Center in Claremore on Thursday, Oct. 27, and Eureka Springs, Ark. on Friday, Oct. 28 and 29, providing hundreds of students with their first glimpse of Shakespeare performed live.
“The Time Is Out of Joint” was performed as an alumni event in New York in 2009 and was featured on-campus at the Dramapalooza Theatre Festival last year. The show was adapted from William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” by the former Theatre Department Director Dr. Molly Risso and re-edited by the current Chair of Art, Communication and Theatre Dell McLain.
The show features six actors in a variety of roles as they examine the character of Hamlet as his intellect, heart and passion.
