Southeastern Oklahoma State University is hosting a blood drive on campus. The event will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m. The Bloodmobile from the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) will be parked behind the Morrison Building during these hours.

Mitchell Emberson, the Director of Student Life, stressed the importance of donating blood due to a shortage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and a lack of eligible donors.

The Office of Student Life has partnered with the OBI for over a decade, and every donation made will stay within the community.

“One of the cool things with our blood drive is that we are in competition with East Central University,” Emberson said. “We have a long-standing tradition.” As per tradition, whichever campus has the most donations wins a traveling trophy, which has been proudly displayed in the Office of Student Life for over a year.
