New holiday tradition announced

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University is inviting everyone to a new holiday tradition this year – the “Loop of Lights.’’

Lights and decorations will be displayed around the campus loop the entire month of December, and will be lit up from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

On Dec. 5 and 6, Saturday and Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Storm Chaser One van will be on the loop playing Christmas songs.

President Thomas Newsom and his wife will be on the front porch of the Magnolia House waving as visitors drive by. Santa Claus will also be making an appearance alongside the Newsoms.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this holiday event is drive through only, and guests are asked to remain in their vehicles.
