Since the presidential election in November, the future of people under DACA has been in question, because of Donald Trump’s promise of clamping down on illegal immigration.

DACA, Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, Is an American immigration policy established by the Obama administration in 2012.
DACA, allows certain illegal immigrants who entered the country as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit.

Now, the Trump administration officially announced its plan to end the DACA program.

Fox News reported. “Nearly 800,000 undocumented youth known as dreamers, are under the program. Thousands of people could lose their jobs, if President Trump decides to end the DACA program.
Trump tweeted,” for all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the six-month period, you have nothing to worry about.”

Myajc.com reported that Trump, has claimed several times that he “loves” this group and is attempting to be sympathetic though his tweet. Trumps announcement that he be “winding down” DACA. If congress decides to discontinue DACA, within the six-month period, the lives of those in the program will lose their foundation. Without the protection of DACA, immigration and Customs Enforcement could have them removed from the country.

This is something to be worried about, six months is not a long time. Now the “dreamers” can only prepare for deportation.
