Southeastern Speech and Debate to compete at state tournament

Durant, OK— The Southeastern Speech and Debate Association impressive streak of speech or debate competitors reaching finals rounds came to an end at Oklahoma University’s Sweetheart Swing Speech and Debate Tournament in Norman, Oklahoma.

The forensics tournament featured an open National Parliamentary Debate and International Public Debate Association tournament as well as two self-contained American Forensics Association National Individual Events tournament; however, no SE Okie reached any finals rounds.

Connor Judd and Jacob Morrison, both from Durant, OK reached the quarterfinals in the open Parliamentary Debate competition. Judd and Morrison ran their combined season’s record to 24 and five in both novice and open Parli competition rounds.

SSDA’s will next compete at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Forensics Association’s State Tournament in Oklahoma City, OK, March 3-15.
