Attack in Silo

Four men illegally entered a home in Silo at 4 a.m. on Tues. The subjects beat everyone in the residence. Subjects responsible for this crime include Kadell Nguyen, Karson Rogers, Stephen Coker and Michael Sandler. Nguyen and Rogers are in custody. Coker and Sandler have not been found.

The Durant Daily Democrat spoke with Bryan County Sheriff Nathan Calloway who said, “the 4 men had masks on when they invaded the home. One woman was held down at gunpoint. Another suspect went to another bedroom and made contact with the male resident. He was hit in the face with a blunt object. From there, another male occupant was in another bedroom. They woke him up and severely beat him. They knocked several of his teeth out.”

Calloway added, “there was a combination of a rifle, brass knuckles and a baseball bat used.” Two of the men affiliated with the crime have been captured. Nguyen and Rogers’ bail is set at $250,000. The remaining two are still at large.

However, Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Chief of Police, Stacy Ballew, believes this should not be a concern for Southeastern students. “None of them [men in question] are Southeastern students.” Ballew said students should not be worried. When asked how long he believes it will take to capture the remaining men, Ballew replied, “it’s only a matter of time.”

If you are in danger, see suspicious behavior, or believe you have found the men who have not been captured, do not hesitate to call 911. The on-campus telephone extension is 2727 and the on-campus emergency number is 2911. Campus Police Office is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located at the corner of 3rd & University.
