Trick-or-treat is a Halloween custom for children in many countries. Children in costumes travel from house to house asking for treats such as candy with the phrase “Trick or treat”.

A safe trick-or-treat is most important during Halloween for parents.

Every year Southeastern holds a “Trick or Treat” event to celebrate Halloween. This year it was held on October 31 at Southeastern in Shearer Hall and Suites and North Hall and was two hours long.

Students who live in Shearer Hall were volunteers. They passed candy to local families throughout the floors of the residence hall.

North Hall hosted a haunted house for all ages.

Residence life gave free candy to volunteers to guarantee they would have enough candy for community children.

The event began at 6:00 p.m. and ended at 8:00 p.m. Many local families came with their children. Most of the children  wore costumes.

The trick or treat event is not just for little children to get candy, it also was a time to let all people who attended feel happy.

During the trick or treat event, the dorms were full of laughter.
