Input on adding and dropping classes

Zach Brittingham, Staff Writer

School is hard. We are all aware of that. Sometimes we find ourselves in certain situations that require us to change up our ordinary routine, which is also hard. Luckily, most universities have add/drop options for their classes.

At Southeastern, the deadline to add or drop a class without having to pay for the class is one week after the class starts. If you need to drop a class after that deadline you will have to pay for the course.

There is an exception to that though; if you receive financial aid and complete at least 67% of the course, then the aid will cover it and you can drop with a W, which stands for withdrawn. If you have too many W’s you will be dropped from your aid package, but having a few on your transcript really is not as bad as failing the course.

The last day to withdraw from a class is November 11. For some students that need to get some extra credit hours or just do not like going the full semester, there is an add/drop deadline coming up next week for eight-week block courses on October 12.
