For the second-straight week, Southeastern running back Baylen Laury has been rewarded for successful outings, earning Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Player of the Week honors following SE’s 20-19 loss to rival East Central.
Laury, a senior from Forney, Texas, turned in the best outing of his career for the second-consecutive week, as he rushed for a career-high 222 yards on 22 carries and reached the end zone twice.
His 222 yards is the best in the Lone Star Conference this season and is the sixth-best single game outing in Southeastern history.
He averaged 10.1 yards per carry and the game was his fourth 100-yard rushing performance of the season. He also added five catches for 21 yards, finishing the day with 257 all-purpose yards in the contest.
The Savage Storm will be back in action on Oct. 30 when they travel to take on Eastern New Mexico with a 3 p.m. (CST) kickoff.
