October 2015 will bring about homecoming in the form of True Blue Circus, with a variety of events and opportunities during its reign.
Homecoming week will officially commence Sept. 28. Hosted during the events will be the 29th Whang Bang Golf Tournament,” along with a football match against Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. at Paul Laired Field.
The annual Homecoming parade will kick off at 10 a.m. on Oct. 3, starting off near Main Street. Entry forms for putting a group in the parade must be submitted to the office of the Student Government Association on the third floor of the Glen D. Johnson Student Union by 5 p.m. on Sept. 16, along with a design sketch or description of the proposed entry to the parade.
King and queen applications will also be due on Sept. 16 by noon to the SGA office, along with Big Man on Campus forms, an annual recognition of representatives from local sororities and other groups, as well as sweepstakes.
Parades floats will have to reflect the designated theme for homecoming, a theme which must be chosen at a meeting for captains and chairs on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. Judgments on floats will call for a criteria of how unique the float is, how appealing it is to look at, how closely it relates to the homecoming theme and how much SE spirit it demonstrates.
For all information requested concerning True Blue Circus, Sarah Roberts and Ross Sandmann can be contacted at the SGA office through extension 745-2366, or visited directly on the third floor of the student union.
