This year’s homecoming, Destination Homecoming, is packed with events. Dr. Jesse Arnold, Ms. Josephine Wildcat Bigler and Dr. David Whitlock will receive the honor of 2014 Distinguished Alumni. The 2014 Distinguished Former Faculty are Dr. Pat Dunham, Dr. Phil Dunham, and Dr. Robert Oliver. On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Durant Historical Society hosts SE Night at the Museum at Three Valley Museum lasting from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, the 28th annual Whang Bang Golf Tournament at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Course will be held. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament will start at 9 a.m. People can also register online at the Southeastern’s website under alumni. At 5:30 p.m., the Distinguished Awards Banquet will happen in the Visual and Performing Arts Center. After that, at 8 p.m. the True Blue Rally will occur in the amphitheater. Then on Saturday, Oct. 25, Southeastern President Sean Burrage and Director of Athletics Keith Baxter will host Coffee and Conversation with Southeastern Athletic Legends at 8 a.m. in the Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium. The Homecoming parade will be in downtown Durant at 10 a.m. The Alumni Tailgate Party will take place in Alumni Alley across from Paul Laird Field at 11 a.m. Southeastern Campus Tours will take place at 11:30. Pre-Game Ceremony will take place at 1:50 p.m. at Paul Laird Field. Kickoff for the Southeastern vs Northwestern game will be at 2 p.m. To finish off the day Discover Durant “A Market Fair” will be hosted by the Durant Young Professionals in downtown Durant at 6 p.m. There will be food, live music and arts and crafts.
