On February 24, 2025 Line Dancing Club is set to host 24 dares from their recent fundraiser.
The “Big Dare Day,” as the group is calling it, will take place in the Student Union Atrium from 5:30 and will go until all dares are completed.
The fundraiser was opened to people from the club and outside of Line Dancing Club to sign up to do dares. The higher the amount of money raised, the crazier the dare was set to be. They collected money through Venmo, Cashapp, and they had a table set up during lunch times to collect cash.
Line Dancing Club founder, Addison McCortney said, “The Line Dancing Club fundraiser is a fundraiser we’re doing to raise money. Some of the money will be going to the club, and the rest of the money will be going to Integration Station [Cafe] in Durant.”
You will have the possibility to see everything from Hazyn Harmon using a Period Cramp Simulator, Keedan Jones performing the “Mean Girls” Christmas Dance, Dr. Lincoln + Carley Harper do the “Hot Ones” challenege, and Riley Lerhling walk on legos barefoot. The lowest goal of $20 showcases OL Kelly performing day-care classic, “I’m a Little Teapot.”
Line Dancing Club set a goal of $600, which consisted of Conner Hostetler bleaching his hair and beard. As of Friday, February 21, they have hit their highest goal of $600.
If you are unfamiliar with Integration Station Cafe, it is a non-profit organization. It is a restaurant that goes beyond just serving food. This restaurant provides people with disabilities a place to work who may have a harder time securing a job elsewehere. Integration Station will need as many donations as they can receive to keep the organization running as long as possible.
Line Dancing Club helped provide a perfect opportunity for both the groups to participate in gaining money and having fun. They offer daily specials depending on the week and have recently opened an everyday buffet option. They also have deserts deping on the month with sugar free options. They have a little bit of everything got everyone.
