Durant Main Street is a program dedicated to revitalizing historic Downtown Durant by preservation, economic growth and a sense of community. Durant Main Street often organizes special events focused on bringing locally owned businesses and the community together. This Valentine’s Day will be celebrated by loving local.

Love Local First Friday will take place Friday, Feb 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event will feature live music from Ricky Pittman in front of Craft Pies and Victoria Lemons in front of Bliss Boutique from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Many small businesses will extend their hours during this time to allow for leisurely festive shopping.

According to Ieysha Sanders, Durant Main Streets Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator, there will be “enough special deals to sweep you off your feet!”

The annual Chocolate Crawl will be enjoyed by those who purchased tickets. Recipients receive a Chocolate Crawl pass and treat box. The goal is to visit a variety of small shops across Downtown Durant to collect chocolate treats. This popular activity has already sold out, so be sure to purchase tickets early next year.

A Getaway Giveaway is now running on the Durant Main Street Facebook page. The prize will include a free one night stay at Texoma Shores, a massage for two, dinner, dessert and more. A winner will be announced Monday, Feb. 8.

Caked Up is selling chocolate covered strawberries at $18 a dozen all Valentine’s weekend and have plenty of other sweet options as well.

Posie’s Floral Design is encouraging people to get orders in soon, but will be extending their hours on Valentine’s weekend.

Body Business Day Spa has a 1-hour massage and facial for $80.

Knotty Pine Boutique is running 15 percent off on Valentine’s outfits, cookies and a ‘sweetheart’ drink.

Krahë has Valentine’s night wear, drinks and chocolates, as well as a free gift bag with purchase.

Three Arrows Design is featuring vendor sales, goodie bags and Valentine’s Day gift baskets.

Modern Tot has Valentine’s Day apparel for babies and toddlers.

The Pickery Antique Mall is offering 1o percent off and other vendor specials.

Trippie Hippie Co. is taking 30 percent off of outerwear, as well as offering free wine.
