To prepare for Durant Trails and Open Space’s  Third Annual Turkey Chase, a clean up effort will be on Monday, November 18 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Volunteers will be involved in cleaning up the Crooked Smile Trail and campus for the Turkey Chase taking place on Thanksgiving day.

According to Thomas Weis, an organizer of the event, says they expect to have 100-200 volunteers at the Turkey Chase.

Although the deadline to ensure a t-shirt has passed, registration is still open for the Turkey Trot.

The Durant Trails and Open Space would like everyone in the community to, “come run a fun 5k or 1 mile and earn your extra slice of pie!”

The event will be timed, there will be no group medals, rather, the first 200 people to complete the race will receive a finisher’s medal.
