Mobile Smiles Oklahoma is coming to Southeastern
September 8, 2017
Mobile Smiles Oklahoma, a mobile dental unit, will be traveling to Southeastern’s Durant campus September 25 through September 29. MSO is a fully functional dental office who focuses on treating people that lack dental care access.
Southeastern students, faculty, staff, and community members will be able to get free dental work done in the parking lot north of the Visual Performing Arts Center on campus. Services will include X-rays, fillings, extractions, cleanings, and oral health education.
The Oklahoma Dental Association stated “In 2013, the Mobile Smiles program served 3,017 patients and delivered $329,000 in free care all across Oklahoma.” MSO’s website said it “provided dental treatment to 2,412 patients valued at $631,866.”
MSO is a nonprofit program that, according to the MSO website, “eliminates financial, geographical and situational barriers to dental care access.” If interested, contact Penny Bridwell, Office Assistant for Student Wellness Services, at (580) 745-2988 to schedule an appointment or to request assistance due to a disability.
