College Success Class

College Success covers four main sections. The first part is that the students should be able to identify and apply strategies that lead to academic success. The second part covers electronic resources that can better help students. The third part is about university resources. The fourth part is about how the college increases personal and campus safety.
Clifford Cox, director of the academic advising and outreach center, said still many students are not aware that school has writing center can help them edit their paper before it is due no matter which class they take.
College success class may help students do better in college. However, right now, it is not a required course. It is required for certain majors like music majors and aviation majors.
Cox says that they have data that shows those students who take college success are more successful. Because some students transit from high school to college, this class will help those students do better. For example, they need to do the time management on their own. College Success Class will teach them these skills.
Besides academic skills like note-taking, test-taking and understanding resources at Southeastern, College Success can also help students understand personal campus safety. Cox thinks that it is not only teach college success, but also life success.
Junior, Jared Robinson also thinks that College Success Class is very beneficial and useful for him. He took this class two years ago. He says it helped introduce every place at campus. When he goes to library, it taught him the best way to get sources and things online. It also helped him meet professors and get a letter recommendation by interviewing them. He got a Wal-Mart job by doing so and a scholarship. It is just a one credit hour course, it is not hard and it is very useful.
