Reasons to vote third party
Clinton and Trump are not the only options for voters in the 2016 presidential election
September 1, 2016
This year’s election is unlike any our generation has seen, filled with drama, mudslinging, and scandals. The top two candidates that we are told we can elect are Republican, Donald Trump and Democrat, Hillary Clinton .
Neither of these candidates are appealing. Donald Trump is a bit of a loose cannon when he is on stage or on camera. Imagine having a person represent your entire country spouting off whatever he feels like without regard to the consequences for his actions? He does have a strong sense of pride in country which resonates with many of his supporters.
Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is really good on stage, almost too good. She also is currently going through an email scandal.
So who do we vote for? There is a third party nominee. But this candidate is not just a replacement for the other two; he is a legitimate candidate with great charisma and a solid campaign plan. Gary Johnson and running mate Bill Weld have some momentum heading towards this election.
Johnson has been the most sane candidate that I have seen by far in this election, just by making sense in his speeches. He brings dignity to the position and that is exactly what we want for a person that is going to represent our nation.
Don’t believe that a third party candidate can possibly win? Wrong. Johnson/Weld are going to be on the ticket in all 50 states this November, including in Oklahoma. This will be the first time a third party candidate appears on the ballot in Oklahoma since the year 2000. Not only that, but registered independents in this state can also vote third party. Its been a long time coming, but our two party system is starting to exemplify why our voting process needs to switch to a three party system.
So its up to you, get informed, visit his website (johnsonweld.com), look at the issues he debates about, and tell your friends and family that they can make a difference.
