Oct. 20 the Savage Storm hosted rival Southwestern Okla. State Bulldogs at Paul Laird Field. Southeastern scored first with a field goal from Chris Peoples and never looked back. Southeastern ended the day with a 26-16 victory over the Bulldogs.
The Savage Storm improves to 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the Great American Conference. The Bulldogs drop to 1-6 for the season and 1-5 in the league. This is the second straight win for the Storm.
Coach Richards said, “It was a good solid win. The only mistake was one blocked punt. Other than that it was a good solid football game.”
The Storm had 106 yards rushing and 225 yards passing. Southeastern had a total of 331 offensive yards. Jercolby Bradley lead the Storm with 17 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Savage Storm defense was a force to be reckoned with. The defense forced three turnovers and picked up three sacks.
The Savage Storm will be back in action when they travel to Arkansas to take on Arkansas- Monticello on Oct. 27. Kickoff starts at 3 p.m.
