Southeastern hosting technology conference for educators Aug. 4

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host the inaugural EdCampSE for Pre-K12 and beyond/higher education at the Durant campus on Friday, August 4, in the Russell Building. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Russell 100.

Southeastern, in partnership with the Masonic Institute for Professional Development, will present EdCampSE to recognize and support area public teachers. This will be an opportunity for educators to network and learn best practices on how to incorporate technology into the classroom.

A pre-conference will be held on Thursday, August 3, in the Henry G. Bennett Memorial Library with special speaker Tim Tingle, an award-winning Choctaw author. He will lead interactive sessions on the art of culturally responsive storytelling and how to incorporate digital storytelling into the curriculum. This event begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast and sign-in followed by a lecture at 9 a.m.

On Friday, EdCampSE begins at 8 a.m. in the Russell Building (room 100 , followed by registration, breakfast, and networking at 9 a.m. Sessions will continue throughout the day in the Russell Building.
