Trick or treat
The Office of Residence Life will host a Safe Trick or Treat event for children of the university and Durant community tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. in Shearer Halls and Suites. Graduation application
The last day to complete a final application for graduation is Friday, Oct. 29. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office at 745-2165. Students must apply for graduation even if they do not plan to participate in the commencement ceremony.
Coffee with president
Students are invited to attend a Coffee with the President from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at the SE Bookstore. The event is co-hosted by SGA.
Painter discussion
The self-taught Choctaw painter Norma Howard will discuss and present examples of her work on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. in the Student Union. Admission is free.
Art exhibition
The Barbara Elam Exhibition is showing through Friday, Nov. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by arrangement at the Visual and Performing Arts Center.
SE Live
SE Live is Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. in the Montgomery Auditorium.
Grad Fair
The SE Grad Fair and Teacher Return Day will be Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the SE Bookstore. Graduates will be able to purchase everything needed for graduation, from tassels and hoods to class rings and invitations.
Must-see art collection
The Charles B. Goddard Center is offering the opportunity to see art pieces by Pablo Piccaso, Albrecht Durer, James A.M. Whistler, Francisco Goya and many more artists. Admission is free, and gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The collection will be on display until Wednesday, Nov. 24.
Thanksgiving break
SE’s Thankgiving break will be Nov. 24 through 26.
Symphonic Winds
The Southeastern Symphonic Winds will present a concert on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Montgomery Auditorium.
Holiday open house
There will be a Christmas Open House on Monday, Dec. 6 at the Magnolia House.
Candlelighting ceremony
The annual candlelighting ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6 in the Montgomery Auditorium.
Last day of semester
The last day of fall classes will be Friday, Dec. 10.
Commencement
The commencement ceremony for SE graduates is Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. in the Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Open pre-enrollment
Open pre-enrollment for the spring 2011 semester is now available for all students. Web registration via CampusConnect will continue through Jan. 10. Walk-in enrollment will continue through Dec. 10 and then re-open Jan. 3-10.
Native American Council
The Native American Council meets Wednesdays at 5 p.m. at the Glen D. Johnson Student Union in Room 303.
Gaming arts club
The Original Upholders of the Gaming Arts meets every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the second floor lobby of the Glen D. Johnson Student Union.
Wesley Center weekly events
The Wesley Center offers free lunch every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. The Wesley Center also holds a worship service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and a Bible study, “How to Follow Christ in a Screwed up World,” at 6 p.m. Wednesdays. All events are held in the Wesley Center, located at 311 University Blvd.
