Spring break has come and gone, and the Southeastern rodeo team has traveled to three rodeos this year, with the most recent being March 8-10 in Fort Scott Kan. As of March 11 the SE rodeo men’s team is in ninth place overall in the Central Plains Region standings with 810 points. The women’s team is currently in sixth place overall with 593.50 points.
In individual standings, Dillon Holder is in third with 405 points in Tie Down Roping . Rhett Nelson is tied for ninth in Team Roping, header with 140 points, while Rhyder Nelson is ninth in Team Roping, heeler with 140 points.
Reanna Hays is in seventh overall in Barrel Racing with 222 points. Ari-Anna Flynn is right behind her in eighth with 205 points, and Austee Anderson is 13th with 140 points, in Breakaway Roping Anderson is eighth with 160 points and Hays is tied for 15th with 116.5 points.
The team traveled to Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan. Anderson left Fort Scott as the Women’s All-Around leader with 285 points. Anderson placed second in Barrel Racing with a time of 25.98 seconds and Breakaway Roping with a time of 5.6 seconds. In addition to Anderson, Micaele Carlile also placed in Barrel Racing, coming in eighth with a time of 26.82 seconds.
The rodeo team had a much stronger performance at Garden City Community College March 1-3. When they left Garden City, the men’s team was in eighth place with 120 points and the women’s team placed third with 200 points.
In the individual events Holder placed first in Tie Down Roping with a time of 20.4 seconds. Hays placed first in Barrel Racing with a time of 27.06 seconds, while Kelsey Hildebrand placed seventh in Barrel Racing with her time of 27.64 seconds.
According to Bryel Mulligan, the rodeo coach, Ryan Stanley was seventh in the first go in Bull Riding and advanced to the short round.
In the short round the bulls were not kind and Stanley did not place.
The SE rodeo team continued the season after being off in December at Kansas State University Feb. 22-24. The men’s team left Kanas State in eighth place with 145 points, and the women’s team placed fifth with 163.50 points.
In the individual standings Hays was first in the Women’s All Around with 148.50 points.
Holder took first in Tie-Down Roping with a time of 8.3 seconds. Hays placed seventh in Barrel Racing with a time of 13.06 seconds and tied for second in Breakaway Roping with a time of 2.8 seconds. Anderson had a three way split for seventh with a time of 3.1 seconds.
The next rodeo is April 11-13 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
