This is the second time this year the men’s team hasn’t placed at all.
According to rodeo coach Breyl Mulligan, four women and a man made it back to the short round on Saturday night. In Breakaway Roping, Renee Hays was sixth and seventh in the long round but came away with a no time in the short round.
Mulligan noted that Dillon Holder made it back to the short round in Team Roping in 10th place but also came up with a no time in the short round.
In Barrel Racing, after the long round, Micaela Carlile was second, Ari-Anna Flynn split fourth and fifth and Kelsey Hildebrand was 10th according to Mulligan.

In the individual rankings for the Central Plains Region, Holder remains at third in Tie Down Roping with 405 points. Right now Holder is a contender for the College National Finals Rodeo in which the top three individuals in each event compete.
Rhett Nelson is tied for 10th in Team Roping, Header with 140 points, while Rhyder Nelson drops from ninth to 11th with 140 points in Team Roping, Heeler.

Mulligan said, “Overall I feel like this year has gone well. The rodeo team has adjusted well to me as a new coach and we have several that are in contention for a trip to the College National Finals in Casper, Wyo.”
Mulligan added, “We have two rodeos left this spring, we have to have a good showing at these two rodeos, but I am confident in the teams I am bringing to these last two and feel they have a very good chance to do well.”
The final two rodeos of the season are at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan. April 19-21 and Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell April 25-27.
