When a group of friends go out for lunch or dinner, the hardest thing is to figure out where to eat. One person wants Italian, while another wants seafood. Yet another wants home-style comfort food.
Trio Family Restaurant in Mead has everyone covered.
Trio has an extensive Italian menu and many items that patrons would recognize as down-home comfort food. If you are hungry for a cheeseburger, Trio has that too.
In addition to the regular menu items, there is also a specials menu that changes daily.
The staff is friendly, and the restaurant has a very homey feeling to it.
The food is not only in a college student’s budget, but it is also very good.
When I ate there, I had a New York strip steak that was tender and delicious.
When I got my meal, the steak was undercooked on one side, but the waitress noticed quickly and remedied it.
At most restaurants, when something has to be sent back your entire plate is taken back and you get to sit there and watch as other members your party eat.
At Trio this was not the case. While my steak was being fixed, the waitress brought back my sides so I could continue to eat.
Since I was there with friends, I was able to try more of the menu. The pork chops were nice and juicy, not to mention it was a decent portion.
I also grabbed a bite of Chicken Genovese. The chicken was not dried out and the sauce was very good.
There were mushrooms in the dish and while I didn’t get any in the bite I tried, the mushrooms flavored the sauce extremely well.
Three people were able to eat for under $40 and none of us left hungry.
Trio used to be Ben’s BBQ. It is located on Highway 70 past the EZ Mart as you’re driving to Mead.
It is off the road a bit, but there is a sign that is easily visible from the road.
There is ample parking, and the restaurant is able to sit large parties.
The next time you are out with a group of friends and can’t decide where to go because everyone wants something different give Trio Family Restaurant a try.
You are almost guaranteed not to leave hungry.
